A Requiem for Edward Snowden

by Matthew Collings and Jules Rawlinson

An audio-visual performance work described as a ‘digital opera’, created by composer Matthew Collings and multimedia artist Jules Rawlinson. The music is performed live by four musicians against video projections incorporating images from on-stage cameras, stock footage and hacked documents. The 50-minute performance explores themes of privacy invasion, digital security and personal sacrifice through the lens of whistleblower Edward Snowden’s actions and revelations.
