My Old Man

by Tom McGrath

Human connections flicker between life and death in this play about Sam Macreadie, an ex-jazz musician, retired sailor and inveterate liar. A nurse attempts to communicate with a dying man; a woman tries to connect with her long-lost, dying father and another mysterious figure; her son, obsessed with Goth music and knives, reaches out to an immigrant worker next door. The play explores what holds families together and how the mind changes with age.
